Idle Anywhere

Basics:


Adds the ability to smoke, drink, and eat while V is standing idle in the world.

Drinking and eating will also apply their respective effects (drunk, well fed, sated)

if

you had a matching food type in your inventory, if not it is a purely cosmetic action.

The consumption of alcohol/softdrinks/food from your inventory always starts with the cheapest items, they all give the same buffs anyway.

Alcohol/food props are randomly selected for the animation.

The smoking animation loops forever. To stop it, simply try to move (forward/back/left/right etc)

How to “use” the mod?


Visit V’s starting apartment in H10. You only need to do this once to ‘activate’ the mod.

Press the


Sprint


input while the following is true:

• Stood still (not sat, or crouched)
• Not in a moving elevator (probably can’t be vehicle surf either)
• Out of combat
• Have empty hands
• Not looking directly up or down
• Not scanning (zooming is okay)

again to manually hide it.

The menu will also not work when controlling surveilance systems, in Brain Dances, and shouldn’t work in Johnny’s memories either.

If you do have/use the option while in conversation with NPCs just be aware that it can sometimes cause NPCs to sound distant/quiet during the animation(s)

Installation?


Unzip the main zip into “Cyberpunk 2077” folder so that the .archive ends up in the “Cyberpunk 2077/archive/pc/mod” folder

REDmod?


Unzip in REDmod zip the “Cyberpunk 2077” folder so that the IdleAnywhere folder ends up in the “Cyberpunk 2077/mods” folder

Non-english localization?


(if you really want, you can put the archive file in the IdleAnywhere redmod folder)


Unzip the optional LOC zip into “Cyberpunk 2077” folder so that the .archive ends up in the “Cyberpunk 2077/archive/pc/mod” folder

Uninstall?


Avoid saving with the choice option on screen and then:

Simply delete the IdleAnywhere.archive file from the “Cyberpunk 2077/archive/pc/mod” folder.

AND / OR

Simply delete the IdleAnywhere folder from the “Cyberpunk 2077/mods” folder.

You can also remove the IdleAnywhere.yaml file from “Cyberpunk 2077/r6/tweaks”

This is a quite experimental mod, I’ve tried to cover/block all cases where you shouldn’t be able to see/use the menu, but some cases might still occur and need fixing.



Languages


Main file is English only, there is an optional LOC file for all other languages.

Localization via Google Translate so may need to tweaks/corrections.

Issues/limitations:



If given the opportunity to use the menu during conversations be aware that VO has a chance to sound distant/muted.

There is no actual stand-smoke animation for the player in the game, so I had to make do with what there is, so it’s not perfect.

Bugs


If anyone finds any bugs beyond what’s listed in in Issues/Limitations, please let me know!

I’ve tested a lot of cases, but have probably missed something somewhere in the game. If you find any cases of being able to idle action when you shouldnt, or doing so breaking something, please open a bug ticket for it!
